Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Zeebo UK Ltd, the company that makes Camp. They cover the Camp app, makecamp.co and our links. By creating an account or using Camp you agree to them. Please read them, especially the parts about your content, the adults-only rule and our liability.
1. Who we are
Camp is provided by Zeebo UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“Camp”, “we”, “us”). Contact: hello@makecamp.co. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, and is part of these terms.
2. Who can use Camp
You must be 18 or older to use Camp. We ask everyone to confirm their age, and we lock accounts that tell us they belong to someone under 18. You also need to be able to make a binding agreement, and not be barred from using Camp under any law that applies to you.
3. Your account
- You sign in with a code sent to your email, so keep your email account secure; anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- Use your real first name or the name your groups know you by, and keep your email address current.
- You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at once at hello@makecamp.co if you think someone else is using it.
4. Your content
“Your content” is anything you put in Camp: plans, lists, posts, links, polls, messages, photos, files and the rest. It stays yours.
To run Camp we need your permission to handle it. So you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, adapt (for example resize a photo or make a link preview) and show your content, only to operate, secure and improve Camp and to show it to the people you share it with. This license ends when your content is deleted from Camp, except for copies others have saved and backups that roll over in the normal way.
What you share in a group is seen by everyone in it, and stays with the group if you leave or delete your account, because it’s part of the group’s plans and conversation. Anyone you send an invite or plan link to can see that link’s preview. Only share what you’re happy for those people to see.
You confirm that you have the right to share your content, and that sharing it doesn’t break these terms or anyone else’s rights, such as their privacy or copyright.
5. Rules for using Camp
Don’t use Camp to:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, or post hateful content;
- share sexual content involving anyone under 18 (we report it to the authorities), or anyone’s intimate images without their consent;
- share other people’s private information, such as their address or bank details, without their permission;
- send spam, run scams, or impersonate a person or organization;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- upload malware, probe or break our security, overload our systems, or access Camp by automated means except as we allow;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer Camp except where the law allows it;
- let someone under 18 use your account.
We may remove content or limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may report illegal activity. If you see something that breaks them, tell us at hello@makecamp.co.
6. Groups and admins
- Whoever starts a group is its owner. The owner can make other members admins. Admins can rename the group, invite people and remove members; only the owner can delete the group or change who the admins are.
- If the owner leaves, ownership passes to an admin or, if there isn’t one, to the longest-standing member. A group with nobody left in it is deleted.
- Groups run themselves. We’re not responsible for what members do in a group, and group rules members agree among themselves are between them.
7. Splitting costs
Camp can keep track of who paid for what and who owes whom, and show the payment handles people choose to add, like Venmo or Cash App. Camp doesn’t hold, send or receive money. Payments happen in other apps under their own terms. The amounts in Camp are what group members enter, so check them before you pay. Any debt is between the people in the group, not with us.
8. Coins and extras
You can earn coins in Camp, for example when someone you invited joins, and spend them on extras inside Camp. Coins can’t be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they have no cash value. They’re a license to use features inside Camp, not property. We may change what coins earn and what they buy, and coins end when your account ends. We may remove coins earned by breaking these terms, for example through fake accounts.
9. Other services and links
Camp links to and works with other services: links people share, Apple Maps, your phone’s calendar, payment apps, GIFs from KLIPY, video-call links and more. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them. Your use of them is under their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Our rights in Camp
Camp itself (its software, design, name and logos) belongs to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Camp for its intended purpose. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, then Delete account). We may suspend or close your account, or stop providing Camp to you, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if continuing would put Camp, our users or others at risk. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first. If we stop running Camp altogether, we’ll try to give you notice so you can save what matters to you. Sections 4 (the part about what stays with groups), 7, 8 and 13 to 15 continue after your account ends.
12. Changes to Camp and these terms
Camp changes as we build it: we may add, change or remove features. We may also update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Camp after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Camp and delete your account.
13. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Camp reliable, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that Camp will always be available, error-free or secure, or that reminders, notifications, calendar sync or anything else will always arrive on time. Don’t rely on Camp alone for anything critical such as medical, safety or legal deadlines. Some places don’t allow these disclaimers, so they may not all apply to you.
14. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Camp. Our total liability to you for any claim about Camp is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100. Camp is free to use, so that amount is normally $100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing takes away rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. But if you live in the United States or elsewhere and the law of your home state or country gives you mandatory consumer protections, or the right to bring a claim in your local courts, those rights are not affected. Before bringing any claim, please email us at hello@makecamp.co; most problems can be sorted out that way.
16. Apple
If you got Camp from Apple’s App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn’t responsible for Camp or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Camp. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation for Camp. Apple isn’t responsible for any claims about Camp, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, or intellectual property claims; we are, as set out in these terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you’re not in a country under a US government embargo or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
